City Moves (Documentary)
[Dur. 18 Minutes]
The film looks at air pollution through the lens of mobility justice. It explores NMT (Non-Motorised Transport) as the sustainable solution for tackling air pollution in Delhi, a major cause of which is the transport sector. Perceiving this environmental crisis as a case of environmental injustice and hence a rights issue, the film follows two stories depicting how socio-economic inequalities create ‘uneven mobilities’ within the urban space.
Produced as part of ‘Storytelling for Environmental Change’ (www.pollutionstories.org), a joint project of Keele University and Jamia Millia Islamia. Funded by the British Academy’s Humanities and Social Sciences Tackling Global Challenges Programme, supported under the UK Government’s Global Challenges Research Fund.
